Daughter of Charity Habit.

Would you like to view a photo of a Daughter of Charity habit just like the one Sr. Marie wore? Visit here! Or scroll down the left toolbar to the PHOTOS! section. This replica was created by Kathleen M. Carroll, a Civil War reenactor, whose role is of a Daughter of Charity who served as a nurse - particularly at the medical facility near Gettysburg. The Daughters were very active in helping the war wounded soldiers. Kathleen researched the habit very carefully - with a lot of help from a sister in the archives at Emmitsburg, and she sewed an exact replica which she wears for her reenacting. She knows the ins and outs of the cornette (head covering), and is very knowledgable, if not one of the current authorities, about the habit. Museum of Virginia Catholic History.
