A Simple Summary

Have you wondered how to simply explain Sr. Marie's mission in these times?
This might help:

During the persecution of the Christians in the first century, Our Blessed Mother Mary and St. John the Evangelist fled Jerusalem and settled in Ephesus, Turkey. The house in which they lived was purchased, restored, and preserved by Sr. Marie De Mandat-Grancey, Daughter of Charity (1837-1915) in 1892. Sr. Marie spent the first thirty-five years of her vocation devoted to charity and mercy in France and then in Turkey. Then her vocation took on an added dimension. Not only did Sr. Marie continue her responsibilities as head of the Naval Hospital in Izmir and run a local orphanage, but she also spent the next twelve years helping to find Mary’s House, Meryam Ana Evi. After funding the purchase and restoration of the entire mountain and area (Panaghia), she promoted devotion to Mary at the site of the Chapel from 1892 until her death becoming known as Panaghia's Mother. Most noteworthy is that all of Sr. Marie's work, prayers, and devotion of so long ago are highlighted in these times as something else very special indeed. Mary's House is a holy and common ground for Christians, Muslims and Orthodox where they gather to honor Mary, Mother of Jesus (as the Muslims call her). To this day, Muslims, Christians and Orthodox pilgrimage to this "home of a Jewish Mother"; certainly a sign of hope in these uncertain times of inter-religious conflict. This is the miracle that Sr. Marie's holy, driven, and pure faith never could have imagined; this is what many have come to believe is her mission in these times; Marian devotion across religious lines. Once again, as throughout history, the Mother of God, Mother of all God's children, gathers us and teaches us how to pray; if not together, at least side by side in peace. Sr. Marie leads the prayer. Her persevering work and faith has opened the door to Mary's House! Can you see her standing there, faithful Foundress and protector, opening wide the door to Mary's House, a true symbol of Mary's Heart, welcoming all God's children to enter? Surely a beacon of hope in these times. Thanks to the foresight, virtue, perseverance, and hard work of Sr. Marie de Mandat-Grancey, Foundress of Mary’s House, Mary is again honored by God's children, under a particularly precious and timely title; Mother of Holy Hope.

Mercy Meditation

A good priest and I were once discussing God's Mercy and His Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, Mercy Incarnate. Reflecting on THE ultimate price paid for our redemption he said, "God's Mercy is His Justice. His Justice is His Mercy." I was speechless. (No small event.) Again, this good priest had me thinking...meditating about God.

On the Cross, Mercy and Justice were united in an eternal offering. Justice was perfectly served as THE complete price was paid for our sins in THE solitary and perfect act of Love and Mercy. I can think about that forever...really... and often do.

It's all about Mercy. It always has been; always will be.

I was blessed to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at the death beds of both my mother and father. Understanding the promises attached to this act of faith and mercy, I consider that a gift beyond comprehension!

Often I realize that the only thing I can ever bring to God that doesn't come from Him is my sin. Everything good in me comes from Him. Certainly all good that I have done and may ever do comes from Him; He inspires it and permits it. And yet He desires me; calls and welcomes me. This understanding draws me more and more deeply into the mystery of His unfathomable Mercy.

If we want to be pleasing to God, to follow His Son, we must be merciful to others and also pray for Divine Mercy for ourselves, for those we love, for our Church, country and world ...buckets full, oceans full!

Of course unfathomable Mercy is already there, pouring out upon the souls for whom we pray; exists in incomprehensible abundance before we pray or even think to pray. Maybe we are praying that souls receive the beautiful gift of a small inkling; precious, sweet, surprise comprehension of it; a tiny glimpse into the Merciful Love of God. Jesus, I trust in you. Mother of Mercy, draw us to your Son; teach us of His Mercy.

Lamb of God,
You take away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.

Lamb of God,
You take away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.

Lamb of God,
You take away the sins of the world,
Grant us peace.

Please God, please. I beg You for peace for this world so sorely in need of peace.

Saint Anne and Saint Joachim, mother and father of our Merciful Mother, pray for us.
Sr. Marie, pray for us.

God bless the priest who inspired this meditation. Please pray for him and for all priests. They are Jesus' vessels of mercy. We could better live without the sun, than without Jesus' priests who bring us His Mercy.

Pope Warns of "Critical Juncture" for Christianity

For entire article click on above title.

Some excerpts of Our Holy Father's words:

"I think you would agree that the ecumenical movement has reached a critical juncture," the leader of the world's 1.1 billion Catholics told a meeting in Sydney's St Mary's Cathedral.

"We must guard against any temptation to view doctrine as divisive and hence an impediment to the seemingly more pressing and immediate task of improving the world in which we live."

"A harmonious relationship between religion and public life is all the more important at a time when some people have come to consider religion as a cause of division rather than a force for unity," he said.

"In a world threatened by sinister and indiscriminate forms of violence, the unified voice of religious people urges nations and communities to resolve conflicts through peaceful means and with full regard for human dignity."

Let us pray in union with Our Holy Father for his stated intentions through the intercession of Sr. Marie.

Dear Sr. Marie, please pray for us that we may work for Christian unity, a harmonious relationship between religion and public life, and a unified voice of religious peoples for peace in our world. Amen.
