And entering the house [the Magi] found the child with Mary his mother. They bowed down and worshipped him." ~ Mt 2:11
.
Pope John Paul II teaches us: At the moment when Mary presents her son to the Magi, she not only performs a personal action as Mother but also acts as the figure of the Church. As the mother of all peoples, the Church in the person of Mary initiates her work of evangelizing.
.
The work of evangelizing begun so long ago, continues to this day, January 6th, 2010, the Feast of the Epiphany. Long ago, the Star of Bethlehem was a sign directing the first wise men to a stable where Mary presented them with her son, their Savior.
.
You may know that the book about the life of Sister Marie written (and hopefully soon to be published) by Father Carl Schulte, C.M. in entitled A Guiding Star. Father Schulte so beautifully describes Sister Marie as the guiding star who led the good priests to Mary's House in Ephesus in 1891.
.
From the stable in Bethlehem, to the little home in Nazareth and then Jerusalem, to her final home in Ephesus, our mother Mary has always beckoned and welcomed all to enter, receive, and adore her Son. Let us pray together that Sister Marie, a new guiding star for these times, will shine ever so brightly so that all God's children may find their way to Mary's Home, a symbol of her Heart. Once safely inside Mary's Heart, our good mother, the mother of Jesus the Christ, the "mother of all peoples," will as always, ready us, tidy us up and present to us our Savior and Redeemer.

Sister Marie points the way.

Mary beckons, "Do come in!"

Jesus whispers, "I've been waiting for you..."
