a spark and a star...

Pope John Paul II will be beatified on May 1st. We know this is the Feast of St. Joseph but it is also Divine Mercy Sunday this year and the "spark from Poland" foretold by St. Faustina in her diary Divine Mercy in My Soul will ignite the faith of many souls to trust the the Mercy of Jesus.
The Feast of St. Joseph the Worker reminds us of the Fatima prophecy. The only saint who appeared at Fatima besides Our Lady was St. Joseph who held the Child Jesus in his arms and blessed the 70,000 people three times. It is he of whom it was foretold: "The sound of victory will be heard when the faithful recognize the sanctity of St. Joseph."

And what about the Divine Mercy prophecy given to St. Faustina!...

According to Saint Faustina’s diary, Jesus said of Divine Mercy Sunday:

I am giving them the last hope of salvation; that is, the Feast of My Mercy. If they will not adore My mercy, they will perish for all eternity… tell souls about this great mercy of Mine, because the awful day, the day of My justice, is near. —Divine Mercy in My Soul, Diary of St. Faustina, n. 965

St. Faustina wrote: "From [Poland] will come forth the spark that will prepare the world for My final coming."

In 1981 at the Shrine of Merciful Love, John Paul II said,

Right from the beginning of my ministry in St. Peter’s See in Rome, I consider this message [of Divine Mercy] my special task. Providence has assigned it to me in the present situation of man, the Church and the world. It could be said that precisely this situation assigned that message to me as my task before God. —November 22, 1981 at the Shrine of Merciful Love in Collevalenza, Italy

And now on the upcoming Feast of Divine Mercy in 2011 Pope John Paul II will fulfill what he considered his "task before God" and point us again to Divine Mercy, our "last hope of salvation," and also to St. Joseph whose recognized sanctity will "make the sound of victory heard"...this as the Church celebrates the sanctity of Blessed John Paul II the "spark from Poland."

We another gift from God!  The investigation into the opening the cause for the beatification of Sr. Marie will begin in a Diocese named for St. Joseph. ...and as the book about her life, A Guiding Star by Father Carl Schutle, is released this spring at just about the same time, we can count on her, like God's "spark" Pope John Paul II, to light our path...to be a "guiding star."

God gives us shining lights in the darkness!...dazzling gifts on top of gifts, all wrapped in glimmering graces within graces!...

St. Joseph, pray for us.
St. Faustina, pray for us.
Blessed John Paul II, pray for us.
Sr. Marie, pray for us.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Mercy Incarnate, have mercy, mercy, mercy on us.

Praise God!
