We Thank God!

A message from Erin von Uffel
President of the Sr. Marie de Mandat-Grancey Foundation

It is now only days away until the status of Sr. Marie de Mandat-Grancey, DC will change forever in the eyes of the Catholic Church. On January 21, 2011 an official ceremony to initiate an Investigation into the life of Sr. Marie de Mandat-Grancey will be opened by Bishop Robert Finn of Kansas City –St.Joseph Diocese. The Immaculate Conception Church at 6 PM will be welcoming people from near and afar. We will not know what the last step of this the process will be for Sr. Marie de Mandat-Grancey, but we do know God arranges all things, in His time, for His purpose.
“Have you not heard that I determined it long ago? I planned from days of old what now I bring to pass …(Isaiah 37:25-26) God has a plan for each and every one of us. It is amazing to see the plan for Sr. Marie continues to unfold so many years after her death. (May 31, 1915) This plan for Sr. Marie is now taking a new turn, placing her on the path of an arduous journey, which could place her on the road towards sanctity, declared only by the Church. We are all praying this first step, will lead to the ultimate step for her to be recognized by the Church, as a saint, if that is part of God’s plan for Sr. Marie.

How can this be possible for someone who has died so many years ago? She should have been long forgotten by now. That is not the case for Sr. Marie. She is more well known today, than when she was walking upon the earth! People living on different continents carry her prayer card and distribute them to friends and family. There are people from all over the world, praying to her asking for her to intercede in their lives. They believe their prayers are being answered! They are sending us their testimonies along with medical documents! How can that be? I believe, only God can make that happen. Who would be interested these days (2011), in a nun, whose name is not easy to pronounce, remember, or who wore a full habit complete with a coronet? The answer, people from all faiths, cultures and backgrounds from all continents of the world! It is not only Catholics she is touching but also people from all faiths. They are all coming to know Sr. Marie by word of mouth and by the Internet. They search her name on line, find numerous articles written by many authors, read about her on our site, www.sistermarie.com, sign our petition, go on the virtual tour of Mary’s House (from site) and pray to Sr. Marie at the altar of Mary’s House while on the virtual tour.

Whatever the plan of God is for Sr. Marie, she has given herself completely in her desire to glorify God with a long life of service as a Daughter of Charity, through her self denial and the extraordinary charity towards others, especially the poor and the sick. If it is God’s will for His plan to continue, Sr. Marie will be taking many more steps toward sanctity as defined by the church. She will need your help each step of the way. With each step God will allow her to help us even more and shower us with a multitude of graces He gives to her for our needs. Please provide Sr. Marie the support of your prayers she will need for this arduous journey. Pray God’s will be done for Sr. Marie and for His plan to be unfolded to the world! We thank God for this very first step, taking place on January 21st, 2011 for Sr. Marie! Amen.
